Your biking adventure starts right on the doorstep in Niedernsill. Between Zell am See-Kaprun, the Kitzbühel Alps and the impressive backdrop of the Hohe Tauern, you will find tours for every pace. Leisurely cycle paths through the Salzach Valley, scenic routes for relaxed cyclists and sporty trails for mountain bikers make your holiday varied and active. Whether with the family, by e-bike or mountain bike - a new tour awaits you every day.

Mountain biking and Hohe Tauern Bike Trail

If you enjoy a more active pace, you can discover numerous mountain bike tours around Niedernsill on forest and alpine roads. The gentle heights of the Kitzbühel Alps, the mighty mountain world of the Hohe Tauern National Park and views as far as the Kitzsteinhorn make every route special. One highlight is the Hohe Tauern Bike Trail: covering around 530 kilometres and 14 stages, it leads through alpine valleys, past mountain lakes, alpine pastures, glacier streams and striking peaks. The route mainly follows forest and alpine roads and is also suitable for leisure-oriented riders - especially with an e-mountain bike.

Well planned on the go

Even without your own bike, starting a tour is easy: In the surrounding area, you will find bike shops, rental stations and service points for bicycles, mountain bikes and e-bikes. With the included Guest Mobility Ticket, you also stay flexible and can easily reach many places and starting points around Zell am See-Kaprun by public transport.

Please note the current information about the mountain bike route 9B / 10E Schattbergrunde: Due to construction work on the goods road in the Burgeck area of Niedernsill, the route is closed from 25 May to 15 December 2026, Monday to Friday from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm - also for mountain bikers. On weekends, riding is possible at your own risk.
